...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL ST. MARTIN AND
NORTHEASTERN ST. LANDRY PARISHES THROUGH 515 PM CDT...

At 451 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Palmetto to near Melville to near
Atchafalaya National Wildlife Refuge. Movement was east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
         objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Krotz Springs, Melville, Palmetto, Bayou Current, and Atchafalaya
National Wildlife Refuge.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 PM CDT for
central and south central Louisiana.
