.SYNOPSIS...

Upper low continues to make its way around the Silver state and will
bring a last gasp chance of a few storms and showers for central
Nevada. High Pressure to build on Saturday and will bring a pattern
change to quiet conditions through the end of the week.

&&

.SHORT TERM...Tonight through Saturday Night

Today through Saturday upper level trough will continue its track
around the Silver State today and Saturday as it crosses southern
California and moves into Arizona and over the four corners
region. This will leave Nevada in the trough axis for today before
it begins to slide east Saturday giving way to a building upper
ridge moving in off the Pacific coast. For sensible weather, there
is a low 20% chance for a few showers and thunderstorms across
central Nevada, mainly along and south of the US-50 corridor, and
east of Eureka. Only very light accumulations can be expected, up
to 0.05" if you`re lucky to find a shower, as most will stay dry.
These showers should quickly dissipate after sunset this evening
leaving partly cloudy skies. Saturday Looks to be the start of a
quiet spell, as high pressure starts to build in from the Pacific.
With the low off to our SW, this will place NV under northerly
flow aloft which will bring a few passing clouds and seasonable
cool temperatures. Temperatures through Sunday morning look to be
in the mid 70s to mid 80s for highs, and overnight lows falling
into the mid 30s to mid 40s. Winds will be relatively light across
most of the area, the exception will be across some of the ridge
peaks for Nye and White Pine county closer to the upper low. Winds
will be northerly at 5 to 15 MPH with a few gusts up to 25 mph. The
range peaks may see northerly winds of 15 to 25 MPH with gusts up to
35 MPH.

.LONG TERM...Sunday through next Friday

Warm and dry to end the weekend, with highs in the upper 60s to
low 70s and lows in the 30s and 40s. Showers will be possible in
SE White Pine county on Monday evening. A ridge of high pressure
will build over the western U.S. by midweek, pushing highs into
the upper 70s and lows into the 40s. The ridge axis will push east
by Thursday in response to a low pressure system building off the
west coast. Warm and dry weather will persist across the region
through late next week.

.FIRE WEATHER...

Upper trough and associated upper low will continue to track
around the Silver state Today and Saturday. There is a low 20%
chance of a few thunderstorms across central Nevada this
afternoon, mainly along and south of US-50 and East of Eureka.
There is a possibility a few of these storms could be dry leading
to a period of elevated fire weather conditions through sunset.
After this evening, quiet pattern begins with light northerly
winds and partly cloudy skies through Wednesday as the ridge moves
in overhead, quiet pattern continues under SW flow aloft as the
ridge shifts east with slowly warming temperatures.
