Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service San Angelo TX
1206 PM CDT Wed Jun 12 2024

...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 138 AM CDT Wed Jun 12 2024

We should see a few isolated showers developing through this
morning, mainly along and south of the I-10 corridor and
potentially the far eastern portions of the Big Country and
Heartland. Main impacts with any of these storms that develop
will be wind, heavy rain showers, and frequent lightning.
Increasing clouds and lower ceilings are beginning to develop
across much of the area this morning, due to the moist airmass in
place across West Central Texas. However, this will be short-lived
as sunny and drier conditions will start to take over by later
this morning and kickoff the warming and drying trend that is
expected to last for the next week at least. Afternoon high
temperatures for today will reach into mid 80s to mid 90s, and
overnight lows will range in the upper 60s to low 70s.

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday through Tuesday)
Issued at 213 AM CDT Wed Jun 12 2024

Expect mainly hot and dry conditions through the long term as an
upper level ridge builds across the Southern Plains. However, low
level moisture advection will keep temperatures down a little, but
result in humid conditions, especially across the eastern half the
area. Highs will be in the 90s to around 100 with lows only cooling
into the 70s.

Thursday...otherwise VFR.
