.NOW...
Through 500 pm, an area of showers and embedded thunderstorms
continues to move east to southeast between 5 to 10 knots across the
offshore Gulf waters. There were also additional showers over eastern
Hawk Channel near Carysfort Reef Light and the eastern Straits of
Florida moving northeast between 10 to 15 knots. Mariners
encountering this activity can expect reduced visibility to less than
3 miles, especially inside thunderstorm activity, wind gusts to near
30 knots, and occasional cloud to ground lightning strikes. The
stronger activity will be handled with Special Marine Warnings.
