In addition to widespread winds of 70 mph and greater, stronger winds of over 100 mph, impacted locations just south of the city of North Platte. .Lincoln County Damage Survey... Peak Wind Measured : 70-105 mph Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 06/02/2024 Start Time: 7:15 PM Central A storm survey conducted by the National Weather Service in North Platte revealed the widespread damage across central Lincoln County was the result of extreme outflow winds from a bowing line segment of storms. The peak wind speed from the survey was 105 MPH. Traditional survey techniques including aerial imagery from the North Platte National Weather Service uncrewed aerial system (UAS) team revealed no cyclonic circulation along the path of damage. Radar imagery from the event strongly suggests that descending outflow from the severe line of storms prevented the necessary stretching for tornadic development ahead of the line of storms. In these situations, brief eddy and/or gustnadoes can form, however they are not circulations that are tornadic in nature. && NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$ Jacobs
