SOUTHWESTERN MCMINN AND HAMILTON COUNTIES THROUGH 1000 PM EDT... At 902 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Soddy-Daisy to near Ridgeside. Movement was east at 25 mph. Also the outflow out ahead of the thunderstorms may produce gusts to over 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Chattanooga, Cleveland, Soddy-Daisy, Lakesite, Charleston, Ridgeside, South Cleveland, Harrison, East Cleveland, and Wildwood Lake. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. If on or near Chickamauga, the winds ahead of the thunderstorms may be as strong as the storms themselves, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, also lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
