Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. AMZ001-280745- Synopsis for Caribbean Sea, and Tropical N Atlantic from 07N to 19N W of 55W 339 PM EDT Thu Jun 27 2024 .SYNOPSIS...A broad area of low pressure over the western Caribbean Sea is producing widespread but disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity while it moves west-northwestward. Some development of this system is possible over the northwestern Caribbean Sea or over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico during the next few days. Expect moderate to fresh trade winds through Mon night, with the exceptions of fresh to strong southeast winds over the far western Caribbean Fri through Sat night and light to gentle winds over the southwestern Caribbean. Winds and seas are expected to increase in the eastern Caribbean starting Mon as a strong tropical wave, or possible tropical cyclone, enters the Caribbean.
