At 735 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Wilton to Muscatine, moving east at 40 mph. THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR MUSCATINE COUNTY! HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely. Locations impacted include... Davenport, Muscatine, Durant, Wilton, Walcott, Blue Grass, Buffalo, Andalusia, Fruitland, Reynolds, Taylor Ridge, Montpelier, Illinois City, Fairport, Edgington, Stockton, Clark`s Ferry Recreation Area, West Lake Park, New Era, and Pleasant Prairie. This includes Interstate 280 between mile markers 1 and 7. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately.
