.DISCUSSION...Rest of today through Tuesday...
Today will be the driest day of the week for the higher terrain,
with RHs falling into the teens and 20s this afternoon. Winds will
remain on the lighter side (gusts below 20mph) though this
afternoon, limiting fire weather concerns. Moisture will increase
through the weekend with minimum RHs above 50% for much of our
forecast area by Monday. Isolated to scattered rain showers are
expected in the higher terrain on Saturday, but wetting rain is
unlikely. Rain coverage is forecast to increase on Sunday and
Monday with an approaching system. Exact amounts and coverage is
still uncertain, but confidence is high that the higher terrain
will see some rain and snow showers. A cold front will move
through Monday, bringing strong north winds to the plains.
However, RHs will be high enough that no fire weather concerns are
expected.
