Summerlike warmth will close out September and kickoff October
prior to a cooldown this weekend. Light showers are possible
across the northern tier late tonight into early Thursday morning.
More widespread shower activity is expected on Friday. The
precipitation forecast for the weekend has trended drier with the
best odds for rain shifting farther to the south; however, light
rain across the southern tier on Sunday cannot be ruled out. High
confidence in dry weather early next week with frost/freeze
potential Monday night through Wednesday night.
