.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns remain slightly elevated west of US-281
this afternoon, and for portions of the Big Country each day
Friday through the upcoming weekend. This is primarily driven by
continued afternoon RH values dropping into the 25-35% range along
with cured fuels in this region. While winds will generally be
light (5-15 mph) and out of the south/southeast throughout the
forecast period, an episode of gustier winds (gusts of 20-30 mph)
is still possible this afternoon through Friday evening as the
remnants of Edouard slowly drift towards the Hill Country. There
will also be low chances (10-20%) for a stray shower or
thunderstorm in the aforementioned areas on Friday. However, most
will remain rain-free during this time frame with dry and hot
conditions returning by this weekend.
