799 FXUS64 KOHX 062342 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 542 PM CST Sat Dec 6 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 521 PM CST Sat Dec 6 2025 - Low to medium chances for light rain by Sunday evening with a rain/snow mix possible late Sunday night into Monday morning. No accumulations expected. - Continued below-normal temperatures through the next several days. && .SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Sunday) Issued at 1027 AM CST Sat Dec 6 2025 Stratus will continue to keep us cooler than expected the next few days. We could see some clearing into the early evening, but I`m a bit uncertain on that right now and how much that would allow us to warm with the sunset being so early nowadays. Lows tonight will be in the upper 20s to low 30s. Winds will shift bringing warmer air into the mid-state that will be a bit more successful in warming us. Expect highs in the upper 40s to low 50s for Sunday. Sunday will be another overcast day, with some rain chances beginning in the evening hours. Overall, the PoPs are low to medium (20 - 50%), but amounts will be very light. It`s almost like this will be more drizzle than rain that`s how light the QPF is. Overnight into Monday morning, this rain will changeover into some snow showers thanks to a cold front. Sorry for all you snow lovers though, as no accumulations are expected. && .LONG TERM... (Sunday Night through next Saturday) Issued at 1027 AM CST Sat Dec 6 2025 After our dreary weekend, high pressure will attempt to build in into the beginning of the work week, driving temperatures into the 50s for highs. This story changes mid-week, as a trough is expected to dig south and bring more rain chances to Middle Tennessee. There remains some uncertainty with exact impacts of this system due to discrepancies in the guidance, so stay tuned as we refine the forecast. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 521 PM CST Sat Dec 6 2025 All terminals west of the Cumberland Plateau are battling the low clouds this evening, and will likely continue into tomorrow before we finally go VFR by late morning or early afternoon. (CKV will likely remain at least MVFR thru the TAF period.) KCSV and KSRB should stay VFR. A weak surface high is in the process of sliding to the east of Middle Tennessee this evening, so look for winds to pick up from the south after 12Z tomorrow. Any active weather with our next system will likely hold off until sometime after 00Z tomorrow night. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
