.Discussion...
While dry and above normal temperatures continue for the southeast
plains through the end of the week and into the weekend, the mountains
will see increasing thunderstorm chances Thursday through Saturday
night. The heaviest rainfall amounts will fall across the eastern
San Juans Friday and Saturday where widespread amounts of 1 to 2 inches
with locally higher amounts will be possible. This will be a warm
system which will keep most of the precipitation in the form of rain
for all but the highest peaks above 13,500 feet. The remainder of
the mountains along the Continental Divide will see lesser amounts of
up to an inch of rainfall while the southeast mountains are likely to
see considerably less. Temperatures cool off Monday, but will warm
again into early next week with continued showers and thunderstorms
expected over the mountains into next week.
Afternoon dispersions will rise into the fair to good range for most
areas, though the Continental Divide region will stay in the poor
range by Friday as showers and thunderstorms become more widespread.
