- Low (20-30%) rain chances on Saturday, along with slightly
  cooler temperatures.

- Hot and dry weather is expected late this weekend into next
  week.

High pressure will continue to remain in place for the remainder
of today and tomorrow. Highs in the 95 to 101 degree range will
remain in place this afternoon. Heat indices near 103 degrees are
still forecast. A Heat Advisory will continue through 8 PM CDT
today as a result. Otherwise, similar conditions are expected for
Friday. However, a bit drier air and high temperatures that are a
degree or two lower will be in place.

.LONG TERM...
(Saturday through Thursday)

A weak cold front is expected to be over the Big Country early
Saturday morning and will push south across the remainder of the
forecast area during the day. A few showers and thunderstorms
will be possible along and ahead of the front into early Saturday
evening but rain chances will remain rather low (20 to 30%).
Temperatures will be a little cooler as well, with highs Saturday
afternoon in the mid to upper 90s. Sunday will be dry, with highs
a degree or two warmer than Saturday.

As we head into next week, the upper high will be centered over
the Four Corners region, with the ridge axis extending into
Texas. This will result in a continuation of dry and hot weather
through late week, with highs back in the upper 90s to low 100s.
