...Red Flag Warning in effect from 11 AM to 8 pm Thursday for the
central mountains and Fremont County...
.Discussion...
For today, it will be very warm with mainly isolated thunderstorm
activity over the mountains today, with the best chance for
thunderstorm activity over the San Juan Mountains. Given the high
based nature of these storms along with the dry conditions, new fire
starts will be possible due to the cloud to ground lightning
activity.
For tomorrow, Critical Fire Weather conditions are expected and a
Red Flag Warning has been issued for the central mountains and for
the Fremont County region. Gusty winds and low humidity values are
expected, in additions to isolated cloud to ground lightning
activity. Over the plains it will be very hot but winds will not
reach red flag criteria.
For Friday, critical fire weather conditions will once again be
possible over the mountain and valley regions. Over the plains,
elevated fire weather conditions will be possible.
Cooler weather should begin to move into the region for the weekend
with a somewhat better chance of shower and thunderstorm activity.
Afternoon smoke dispersion will be generally very good or better
both today and Thursday.
