Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
408 AM MDT Thu Jun 6 2024

.Discussion...

It will be slightly cooler today across the plains but the heat will
return on Friday. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible across the
mountains today but little if any wetting rainfall is expected.
Thunderstorm chances increase for Friday though they will still be
high based gusty wind makers. The best chance for strong thunderstorms
with heavy rainfall will be Saturday through Monday with the focus across
the southeast mountains and plains initially, before expanding into the
Continental Divide on Monday. Cooler temperatures can be expected
for Saturday through Monday. Thunderstorm chances continue through
the middle of next week, particularly over the mountains but coverage
decreases as temperatures heat up once again.

Afternoon smoke dispersions will rise into the good range across the
plains today and very good to excellent across the mountains. Smoke
dispersions on Friday will be very good to excellent across most of
the district.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
