.DISCUSSION...
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to shift south
and east through the remainder of the afternoon as a cold front
pushes into Southeast Texas. In the wake of the front, north winds
will persist through tonight and much of Sunday morning before
becoming lighter and eventually turning southerly Sunday
afternoon. Widespread wetting rainfall and the recent frontal
passage will keep fire weather concerns minimal through the short
term. Sunday will be largely dry and quiet, although a low chance
for showers and a few thunderstorms may return Sunday night into
Monday with a weak disturbance aloft.
The next more meaningful round of rain and thunderstorms is
expected Tuesday into Wednesday as an upper level storm system and
another cold front move through the region. Some storms may
become severe, and localized heavy rainfall could lead to
flooding concerns. Drier weather will return by late Wednesday
night and persist into next weekend.
