Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Norman OK
1032 PM CDT Wed May 27 2020

...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Thursday)
Issued at 201 PM CDT Wed May 27 2020

Upper low will continue to meander around the region but with a
continued drift east. The low is expected to begin to open up later
in the day Thursday and move east. In the meantime, showers and some
storms will be possible across mainly eastern portions of the fa on
the backside of the low, tonight into Thursday.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday night through next Tuesday)
Issued at 314 PM CDT Wed May 27 2020

Some low chances of precipitation linger in the far southeast
Thursday evening as the upper low/trough slowly moves east away
from the area. This will leave the area under northwest flow aloft
and a ridge of high pressure at the surface Thursday night into
Friday. After this, the large upper ridge over the southwest
expands into the Plains states this weekend and into early next
week. There is a shortwave advertised to ride over the top of the
ridge Sunday/Sunday night, but at the moment it appears that any
effects of this will stay north of the forecast area. So the
forecast is dry after the low Thursday evening precipitation
chances. And of course, a warming trend through the forecast
period as the upper ridge builds in.

Issued at 1029 PM CDT Wed May 27 2020

showers possible just before daybreak.
