Low stratus has developed across the parts of the Colorado plains
early this morning with a portion being funneled southward toward
BJC. This could bring lower clouds close to BJC or in view of the
DEN field for a few hours this morning. BJC may also have brief
periods of BR through 13/14z.
Light and variable winds this morning transition light E/SE in
the afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms are possible after 21z,
with the threat continuing through around 01z. Gusty outflow winds
up to 35 kts are possible with any passing/nearby storms as well
as wind dir/speed changes from outflow boundaries from other
storms.

Winds this morning will generally be from the south-southeast,
picking up slightly as we move into the afternoon. Stratus are also
expected to persist over all three terminals. By 20Z or so,
scattered showers and thunderstorms will form across the area. KALS
will be the site impacted first, with passing storms producing gusty
outflow and intermittent heavy rain. MVFR conditions will persist
under showers along with lower ceilings. Storms will drift off of
the mountains this evening, drifting close to KCOS and KPUB.
Forecast confidence is currently too low to include any direct
precipitation impacts to these terminals, but lowered ceilings and
gusty winds are likely. Precipitation will dissipate across the area
close to the end of this forecast period.

Moisture wrapping westward into southern portions of Colorado
and Utah will bring a chance of light showers this morning but
VFR should continue to prevail. This moisture blossoms into
thunderstorms again by early afternoon with the biggest threat
over southwest Colorado and into the central mountains. Brief
moderate showers are possible along with gusty outflow winds.
KDRO...KGUC and KTEX have the highest probability of these
storms moving over the airfield but confidence still not high
enough to go beyond VCTS attm.

.AVIATION...KSLC...Northwesterly winds will continue through the
day, with some gusts to 20kts possible after 18z. Winds may
transition back to light and southeasterly as early as 05z this
evening, becoming variable at times after 03z.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Isolated showers and
thunderstorms are likely to develop after 19z across a line roughly
from just south of KENV to just south of KPVU. These showers will be
capable of producing gusty outflow winds, including at KPVU.
Generally, winds will favor northwesterly across the northern two
thirds of UT behind a weak boundary, with areas south favoring
westerly to southwesterly winds during the afternoon.

A trough moves through the state today. All sites have at least a
10% chance of a shower or thunderstorm today. The best chances exist
east of the Divide, notably KCOD, KWRL, and KCPR, where
showers/storms will exist but comes down to if one actually impacts
a terminal; have PROB30 groups to cover these chances. At KJAC, some
showers may be moving eastward to start the TAF period. There is
about a 20% to 25% chance of KJAC seeing a shower move over the site
the first few hours of the TAF period. KBPI and KPNA have about a
15% chance of shower or storm through about 17Z/Mon, and KRKS has
about a 20% chance from roughly 19Z/Mon to 00Z/Tue. Gusty winds will
be the main threat from any showers or storms. The strongest storms
are favored near KCPR today.

A progressive weather disturbance aloft will combine with a
developing surface trough to produce scattered to numerous
afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, mainly along
and east of I-25.
Wyoming TAFS...For Rawlins and Laramie, scattered to broken
clouds from 5000 to 12000 feet will prevail, with thunderstorms
in the vicinity at Laramie from 21Z to 02Z. Winds will gust to
30 knots at both locations from 16Z to 02Z.
For Cheyenne, areas of fog producing visibilities from 3/4 to
3 miles with ceilings from 200 to 500 feet will continue until
15Z, then ceilings will be near 5000 feet until 02Z, with
occasional showers and thunderstorms in the vicinity from 21Z to
02Z, then ceilings will be near 10000 feet after 02Z. Winds
will gust to 20 knots until 15Z, and to 25 knots from 21Z to
02Z.
Nebraska TAFS...For Chadron and Alliance, ceilings will range
from 4000 to 10000 feet. Occasional showers and thunderstorms,
or thunderstorms in the vicinity, will occur from 22Z to 04Z.
Winds will gust to 33 knots until 04Z.
For Scottsbluff and Sidney, ceilings will range from 1800 to
3500 feet until 15Z, then scattered to broken clouds from
5000 to 10000 feet will prevail. Occasional thunderstorms, or
thunderstorms in the vicinity, will prevail from 23Z to 05Z,
with visibilities down to 4 miles at Sidney from 00Z to 03Z.
Winds will gust to 30 knots at both terminals from 14Z to 02Z.

north central Nebraska today. Scattered thunderstorms will
develop across the Panhandle this afternoon then spread eastward
across the area this evening. Otherwise, south winds will
become gusty by late this morning. Winds will be erratic and
gusty in and near any thunderstorm activity this evening.

A weather system continues to impact the panhandles causing rain
showers and embedded thunderstorms. KAMA and KDHT have the highest
chances of being impacted. KGUY has a small chance of being
impacted as well but it was not high enough to carry within the
TAF. Flooding may occur if an especially heavy showers linger
over an airfield but this represents a very low, but not zero,
chance. Low ceilings are present across the panhandles of MVFR
levels. These may improve briefly to VFR during the afternoon
hours but going into the evening they are likely to fall back to
MVFR of even IFR. This evening into the overnight hours there is a
chance that fog may form as well but the threat is still to
uncertain to reflect in the TAFs at this time.

Unsettled weather will continue through the TAF period. Widespread
shwrs and tstms will prevail this morning and aftn, with the
greatest coverage favoring along the central mts and ewd. Storms
in east centrl NM may become strong in the aftn, with the
potential for lcl damaging winds and hail. Any direct hits to
terminals may create lcl MVFR/IFR cigs/vsbys due to brief bouts of
heavy rainfall. Storm coverage will decrease rapidly aft sunset as
drier air pushes in from the west.
