702 FXUS64 KTSA 051059 AFDTSA Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tulsa OK 559 AM CDT Wed Jun 5 2024 ...New AVIATION... .SHORT TERM... (Today) Issued at 402 AM CDT Wed Jun 5 2024 The remnants of the overnight MCS will be exiting our area early this morning, with clearing skies expected in its wake. Afternoon high temperatures will warm into the 80s. && .LONG TERM... (Tonight through Tuesday) Issued at 402 AM CDT Wed Jun 5 2024 We will see a short break from the nightly MCS activity we have been seeing recently, but by Friday night, MCS potential will increase again, especially in parts of northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. MCS potential will be greatest across the entire forecast area Saturday night, with a cold front then likely to push across the area Sunday. The passage of this front may result in another break in precipitation chances early next week, but models begin to diverge at this time, and shower and storm chances may return as early as Tuesday of next week. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 558 AM CDT Wed Jun 5 2024 Some spurious low cloud or fog could briefly drop conditions to MVFR or even IFR early this morning. VFR conditions will prevail at all sites from midday on as clouds clear out. Sfc winds will be N to NW with gusts to around 15 kts possible at some sites before subsiding this evening.
