720 FXUS65 KFGZ 011717 AFDFGZ Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ 1017 AM MST Sat Nov 1 2025 .SYNOPSIS...Dry and warm conditions with generally light winds will continue through the next week. && .DISCUSSION...High pressure remains in control of our weather through the weekend with generally light winds and temperatures around 5-15 degrees above normal. A weak low will move into southern California late Sunday, then cross our region on Monday. With so much dry air in place, we won`t see anything much more than an increase in cloud cover and a slight dip in temperatures. Additionally, the winds will swing around to the south to southwest and increase to around 10-15 mph. The flow remains pretty zonal heading into midweek and with a couple of weak shortwaves moving through the mid-level flow. Generally warm temperatures with south through west winds are expected to continue. By Wednesday, we start to see a trough push down along the Pacific NW coast. This trough will move through the Great Basin and into the Rockies Wednesday through Friday. The base of the trough may clip our northern zones but again we lack moisture and other than an increase in clouds as the trough passes through and a slight increase in winds as they shift to the west to northwest, we won`t even realize that it crossed the region. Mainly zonal flow will then continue heading into next weekend. && .AVIATION...Saturday 01/18Z through Sunday 02/18Z...VFR conditions, no precipitation expected.
