.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 202 AM CST Thu Dec 4 2025

Latest surface analysis shows drying of the low levels(falling
dewpoints) over the eastern half of Kansas with some low level
upslope flow across western Kansas. Looks like the dry air along
with some weak isentropic down-glide will prohibit low-level
saturation during the day today. Cold below normal temperatures
today with polar airmass in place will give way to a nice warming
trend for Friday and Saturday as downslope effects help boost
daytime temperatures.

Models continue to show a upper level wave diving southeast across
the Rockies and ejecting out into Oklahoma/northern Texas on Sunday.
The precipitation signal from this system by the models continues to
target locations northeast of Kansas for Saturday into Sunday
morning. Of note, deterministic models show low level moisture being
maintained across Oklahoma and then advect this moisture northward
into Kansas on Saturday/Saturday night. If low level saturation can
be realized and extended deep enough like some model soundings are
indicating this sounding profile could lead to a period of possible
drizzle over southeast Kansas. Otherwise still expecting another
bout of colder/drier air to surge southward across Kansas on Sunday.
This cool down will be short-lived as warmer air quickly returns
giving way to a nice warming trend for next week with daytime highs
above normal for Tuesday/Wednesday.
