This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...south
central...southwest and west central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Day 1 Discussion

Hot temperatures are expected again this afternoon with highs
topping out in the mid 90s along the Colorado border and ranging
upward to around 105 over central and south central Kansas. Heat
indices are expected to reach 105 or more along and east of a
Meade to Hays line.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop later this
afternoon and evening especially toward central Kansas around
Hays. There is a marginal risk for severe storms with damaging
gusty winds being the main threat. A more slight chance for
thunderstorms is expected over far southwest Kansas.

* Hail: Limited risk
* Thunderstorm wind damage: Limited risk
* Flooding: Limited risk
* Lightning: Limited risk
* Excessive heat: Significant risk

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.


Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
