MINNESOTA AND NORTHWEST WISCONSIN.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO AFFECT THE AREA EARLY THIS MORNING INTO THE
EARLY AFTERNOON...WITH ABOUT 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOWFALL EXPECTED
FOR AREAS ALONG AND SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 2 IN EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA
AND NORTHWEST WISCONSIN. LIGHTER AMOUNTS WILL BE FOUND FARTHER
NORTH AND WEST. PLEASE REFER TO THE LATEST WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
AND FORECASTS FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS ON THE WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY THAT IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT.

ARCTIC AIR WILL BRING BITTERLY COLD AIR BACK INTO THE REGION FOR
TONIGHT. NORTHERN MINNESOTA IS LIKELY TO HAVE WIDESPREAD WIND
CHILLS OF 20 TO 30 BELOW ZERO TONIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY...LIKELY
NEEDING A WIND CHILL ADVISORY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

BITTERLY COLD ARCTIC AIR WILL POUR INTO THE NORTHLAND BY THURSDAY
NIGHT. OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES OF 15 TO 35 BELOW ZERO ARE
EXPECTED AND...EVEN WITH A LIGHT WIND...WOULD RESULT IN WIND CHILLS
OF 15 TO 45 BELOW ZERO. WIND CHILL ADVISORIES AND WARNINGS WILL
LIKELY BE NEEDED THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING.

STRONG AND GUSTY WEST TO SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH THIS
MORNING AND WAVES WILL SUBSIDE. CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS TO
SMALLER VESSELS THROUGH LATE THIS MORNING. PLEASE SEE THE LATEST
MARINE WEATHER MESSAGE AND NEARSHORE MARINE FORECAST FOR ADDITIONAL
DETAILS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

A FAST-MOVING TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL LEAD TO STRONG AND GUSTY
SOUTHWEST WINDS THURSDAY MORNING...VEERING NORTHWESTERLY THURSDAY
NIGHT. THE STRONG WINDS AND RESULTANT WAVES WILL CREATE CONDITIONS
HAZARDOUS TO SMALLER VESSELS. FREQUENT GALE-FORCE GUSTS TO 40 KNOTS
ARE POSSIBLE. IN ADDITION TO THE WIND AND WAVES...ANOTHER SHOT OF
BITTERLY COLD ARCTIC AIR WILL POUR INTO THE REGION. SEA SMOKE WILL
BE POSSIBLE AND COULD REDUCE VISIBILITY TO LESS THAN ONE-HALF
MILE...ESPECIALLY ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE. RAPID ICE FORMATION IN
PROTECTED HARBORS AND SHALLOW WATERS IS LIKELY ONCE AGAIN LATE
THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING.

WINDS OVER WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR WILL INCREASE ONCE AGAIN SUNDAY
NIGHT AND MONDAY AS A WEAK AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES THROUGH THE
REGION. THE STRONG WINDS AND RESULTANT WAVES MAY CREATE CONDITIONS
HAZARDOUS TO SMALLER VESSELS.
