...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Nebraska, including the following
  counties, Howard, Merrick and Nance.

* WHEN...Until 845 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas,
  along with possibly along some rural county roads and area creeks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 340 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to an
    isolated thunderstorm, with at least 1.5 to 2.5 inches of
    rain having fallen within the last 45 minutes in parts of the
    Advisory area.  Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to
    begin shortly. Additional rainfall of as much as 1 to 2
    inches is possible over the next hour or so.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Elk Creek, Prairie Creek, Cottonwood Creek, Rock Creek, Horse
    Creek, Timber Creek, Prairie Slough and Spring Creek.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    mainly rural areas of Eastern Howard, Northwestern Merrick
    and Southwestern Nance Counties, mainly north of Palmer and
    east of Cushing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
