...Patchy Black Ice Possible Tonight into Early Thursday Morning...

Subfreezing air has caused refreezing of melted snow on area
roadways, resulting in patchy areas of ice. While most primary roads
in the Tennessee Valley remain dry, these isolated slick spots do
exist on secondary and rural roads as well as bridges and overpasses.
This black ice is especially difficult to detect at night and can
cause hazardous travel conditions in these areas. If traveling
tonight or during the morning commute on Thursday, slow down and use
extra caution. Dress warmly and have a winter travel kit in your
