...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR MAY 7TH THUNDERSTORM WIND EVENT IN
GRANT NEBRASKA...

.OVERVIEW...A warm front draped over southern Nebraska associated
with a strong low pressure system over northeast Colorado initiated
an outbreak of severe thunderstorms during the late afternoon and
evening of Saturday May 7th. The strongest storms were closer to the
center of the low in northeast Colorado...one of which produced a
highly visible tornado in Wray Colorado. This area of thunderstorms
eventually moved toward the far southwestern edge of the state. Later
in the evening these storms evolved into a line that produced a
microburst over the south side of Grant Nebraska.
