Snow departed northeast Kansas early this afternoon leaving sunny
skies and very cold temperatures in place. Late afternoon
temperatures ranged from the teens across northeast Kansas, to the
low 20s across the southern portion of the state. Gusty northwest
winds were producing wind chills just above zero.

Surface high pressure will settle over the Plains tonight and will
provide very cold temperatures. Look for overnight lows to range
from the around 5 below over northeast Nebraska to the teens over
central Oklahoma. A fast moving upper disturbance will bring some
light snow to much of Nebraska on Friday with amounts expected to
be less than an inch. Highs on Friday are only expected to climb
to around 10 degrees over eastern Nebraska, with highs reaching
the upper 40s over extreme southwest Kansas.
