IT WAS A WARM AND BREEZY NIGHT ACROSS MUCH OF CENTRAL AND
EASTERN KANSAS UNDER A CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKY. PREDAWN
TEMPERATURES WERE MAINLY IN THE 70S.

A NEARLY STATIONARY FRONT FROM ALONG THE IOWA AND MISSOURI
BORDER INTO FAR NORTHERN KANSAS WILL MOVE SLOWLY SOUTH AS A
COLD FRONT LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT. THIS FRONT WILL BE THE
FOCUS FOR SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TODAY...MAINLY
ALONG AND BEHIND THE FRONT FROM NEBRASKA AND SOUTHERN IOWA
ACROSS NORTHERN SECTIONS OF MISSOURI AND KANSAS. HOT AND DRY
WEATHER WILL CONTINUE FURTHER SOUTH ACROSS THE REST OF
MID-AMERICA TODAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE
UPPER 70S TO UPPER 80S FROM IOWA AND NEBRASKA INTO EXTREME
NORTHERN SECTIONS OF MISSOURI AND KANSAS. HIGHS IN THE 90S
TO NEAR 100 DEGREES CAN BE EXPECTED FURTHER SOUTH ACROSS THE
REST OF KANSAS AND THE HEARTLAND.

CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL SPREAD A BIT
FURTHER SOUTH WITH THE COLD FRONT TONIGHT...INTO SOUTHERN
SECTIONS OF KANSAS AND MISSOURI. LOWS TONIGHT WILL FALL
MAINLY INTO THE 60S AND 70S...EXCEPT FOR COOLER 50S IN FAR
WESTERN NEBRASKA.
