.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1005 AM EDT Tue Jun 4 2024

A different scene this morning for the Florida Keys and
surrounding coastal waters. The weather is relatively more tame
today compared to the last couple of mornings. This morning only a
few isolated showers are being detected by KBYX. In fact there`s
no lightning in any of this activity. At the surface a broad and
expansive anticyclone is going through a bit of a reorganization
period and has led to a weaker pressure gradient across the area.
This in turn has allowed for winds to back to the northeast.
Looking at visibile satelitte, there are not hints yet of a
cloudline but conditions are decent for one to develop.

Aloft a shortwave ridge is moving into the Eastern Seaboard,
temporarily replacing troughing. This will limit our rain chances
for today. That being said, where boundaries can collide, showers
and isolated thunderstorms will develop. For now, most of these
boundaries are across the waters, barring any future cloudline
development. Therefore, will keep slight chance PoPs for the
island chain and slightly higher chances across the waters,
especially the western waters. Otherwise, despite a northeast
wind, temperatures are expected to return once again to near 90.
Dew points however will remain modestly in the mid 70s.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1005 AM EDT Tue Jun 4 2024

An Atlantic pressure ridge will extend westward
across the southeastern United States over the next couple of
days. As a result, gentle to moderate easterly breezes will
persist, peaking during the afternoon and evening hours.
Thereafter, the ridge will shift southward across Florida,
resulting in slackening and, at times, variable breezes.

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 1005 AM EDT Tue Jun 4 2024

VFR conditions will prevail at both EYW and MTH through the TAF
period. With drier air present today, VCSH is not included at this
time, but there is possibility of a cloudline this afternoon
producing waterspouts. Near surface winds will be east to southeast
at 5 to 10 knots.

&&

.CLIMATE...

In 1981, the daily record high temperature of 91F was last
recorded at Key West. Temperature records date back to 1873.
