.Discussion...
Dry and warm weather will spread across southern Colorado today
through Friday with breezy afternoon winds at times in and near
the mountains and far southeast plains. This will result in
spotty critical to near critical fire weather conditions at times,
though these conditions do not look widespread or persistent enough
to warrant Fire Weather headlines. Showers and thunderstorms return
to southern portions of the plains on Friday.
Another potent storm system is projected to bring widespread
rain and higher mountain snows to southern Colorado over the weekend.
The exact storm track and strength is still prone to change, but
for now the heavier rainfall totals favor locations north of
highway 50. Drier but cooler weather will continue into next week.
Good to very good afternoon dispersions can be expected today with
slightly lower afternoon dispersions expected for Thursday due to
lighter winds.
