.LONG TERM...
(Saturday through Thursday)
Issued at 213 AM CDT Fri Jun 7 2024

Expect mainly hot and dry conditions this weekend due to an upper
level ridge over the area and 850 MB thermal ridge over western
Texas. Highs will be in the upper 90s to around 103.

Expect a little break from the hot and dry weather, with a chance of
rain early next week as a cold front moves through and a few weak
upper level disturbances move by. Going with low to medium chance
of showers and thunderstorms Sunday night and Monday, with low
rain chances across the north Monday night. There may be enough
instability and deep layer shear for an isolated severe storm or
two Sunday and Monday. Going with a dry and warmer forecast
Tuesday through Thursday as the upper level ridge re-builds across
the Southern Rockies extending east into western Texas, with
highs back in the triple digits across southern and western areas
Thursday.
