(Today and tonight) Issued at 347 AM CDT Thu Jun 13 2024 An upper ridge currently centered over the southern Rockies will expand eastward into Texas by tomorrow. This will result in dry and hot conditions again today. Afternoon highs will range from the low to mid 90s over eastern portions of the forecast area, to the upper 90s to near 100 degrees over western sections. Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 70s. Winds will generally remain light southeasterly through the period. && .LONG TERM... (Friday through Wednesday) Issued at 347 AM CDT Thu Jun 13 2024 Expect mainly hot and dry conditions through the long term as an upper level ridge builds across the Southern Plains. However, low level moisture advection will keep temperatures down a little, but result in humid conditions. Expect heat index values of 100 to 103 Monday and Tuesday, especially across the Heartland and Concho Valley. Highs will be in the 90s to around 100 with lows only cooling into the 70s.
