.Marianas Synopsis...
Satellite shows partly cloudy skies with isolated showers moving
through the Marianas Waters. There are slightly enhanced clouds and
showers passing through Tinian and Saipan Waters at this time. The
Ritidian buoy reveals combined seas of 4 to 6 feet, composed mainly
of trade-wind waves and a moderate east swell.

&&

.Discussion...
The Marianas will be dominated by a nearly dry-season trade-wind
regime through next Monday. Minor ripples will trigger times of
enhanced cloud cover and showers, however they are generally expected
to fall short of mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers. Trade
winds are expected to remain over the Marianas through the end of the
month at least.

&&

.Marine...
Gentle to moderate trade winds will continue through at least Sunday.
Combined seas of 4 to 6 feet will become 3 to 5 feet tonight, then
could diminish further for a brief period Friday or Saturday, then
will begin to rise again Sunday. They are not expected to exceed 5 to
7 feet as they rise again. This means that continued benign marine
conditions are on tap through the weekend at least.

.Eastern Micronesia and Chuuk...
A remnant Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) remains over this
region, mainly between 8N and 10N; across northern Chuuk and Pohnpei
States and the northern RMI. Heavy showers were near and just east of
Kwajalein, and a surface trough over southern Pohnpei State was also
producing areas of heavy showers; from just southwest of Kosrae to
Kapingamarangi along the Equator, far southwest of Pohnpei. The
remnant ITCZ and surface troughs moving across the region will cause
showers and thunderstorms in patchy areas at times through this week.

Combined seas of 4 to 5 feet are expected across the region, with
some heavier conditions over the northeast Marshall Islands. Besides
stronger wind gusts near showers and thunderstorms, winds will remain
gentle to moderate this week, except moderate to fresh at times for
Majuro.

&&

.Western Micronesia for Palau and Yap...
Areas of heavy showers are seen over far Western Micronesia this
morning, especially from southeastern Palau to just south of Koror
and to the west of Koror. Patchy showers are seen over much of Yap
State. The overall pattern is fairly non-descript, but ASCAT Winds
analysis indicates a surface trough stretches from the southern
Philippines eastward between Yap and Koror, and thru an apparently
transitory disturbance centered roughly near 10N143E.

Weather will remain unstable and showery over Yap State and Palau
while the surface trough remains nearby this week, and timing any
particularly heavy events will be difficult.

Light winds and combined seas of 3 to 5 feet are expected through
the next few days.
