.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Sunday night)
Issued at 1232 PM CDT Sat Jul 25 2026

Weak easterly mid-level flow around the southern periphery of the
Subtropical Ridge to our north will foster continued afternoon
cumulus and at least a slim shot at showers over the Coastal
Plains. For this afternoon/evening, will not carry any PoPs as
slightly drier air and a weaker seabreeze will likely keep things
east of our region. On Sunday, the ridge will shift slightly north
for a day, allowing a few showers and storms to develop over the
Coastal Plains by late afternoon. Anything that forms will be very
pulsy, so accumulations will be minimal. Temperatures remain
toasty, with highs in the mid to upper 90s.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday through next Saturday)
Issued at 1232 PM CDT Sat Jul 25 2026

Subtropical Ridging will remain in place over the western
Panhandle and northeastern New Mexico Monday-Friday, resulting in
increasingly hot conditions. Humidity should mix out a bit more
each afternoon, with a stretch of triple digit heat expected for
most locations Tuesday-Friday. By next weekend, ridging starts to
slide west into the Four Corners, which could open the door for
northerly flow and some low end rain chances. For now, with it
being nearly a week away, have opted for a mainly dry forecast in
the long term.

(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 738 PM CDT Sat Jul 25 2026

TAFs will likely follow a typical summer diurnal trend with subtle
AM to PM wind direction changes from S to SE over I-35 sites and E
to SE over DRT. A few low MVFR clouds are still hanging around
SAT/SSF for around 5-8 hours, with a smaller period of daybreak
stratus at AUS.
