.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 211 PM CST Tue Dec 9 2025
Tonight through next Monday night: Dry northwest flow aloft will
be the primary weather influence in our area, and this will result
in seasonable temperatures with little chance for any more than
light rainfall as we finish up this week and go through the
weekend. A cold fron passing through the area Wednesday afternoon
will bring a glancing shot of colder air that will result in
freezing temperatures Wed night for mainly northern/eastern
portions of the area.
There will be a brief warm-up Friday/Saturday ahead of another
approaching cold front, then much chillier temperatures will
follow the frontal passage as we go from Sunday into early next
week. Forecast confidence for this round of colder temperatures has
increased some as more guidance points to a significant polar
high surging south through the MS Valley. It seems the cold
anomalies should be centered on Monday morning, but dangerous cold
is not expected. Look for temperatures to rebound and rainfall
chances increase a bit as we go later into next week. /EC/
