Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Tennessee...Southwest
Virginia...and Extreme Southwest North Carolina
National Weather Service Morristown TN
350 AM EDT Tue Sep 24 2024

.DISCUSSION...

...Tropical System May Move into the Tennessee Valley and
Southern Appalachians Late Week...

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms around at times
through Wednesday. Heavy rainfall is increasing in likelihood,
with the potential for an inch or more of rain falling by
Wednesday night. Late week a potential tropical cyclone is
forecast to swing through the southern Appalachians, with the risk
of additional heavy rainfall and strong winds. Track of the
cyclone is not exactly known, and changes in the track of the
tropical cyclone will change magnitude and location of heavy rains
and strong winds.
