...PATCHY ICY SPOTS POSSIBLE ON ROADS...SIDEWALKS...AND PARKING
LOTS THIS MORNING...

Despite air temperatures that were well above freezing early this
morning, sub-surface ground temperatures were still below
freezing across much of the area. This may be sufficient to cause
lingering patches of water to re-freeze into ice in the pre-dawn
hours. In addition, a fairly moist air mass was moving across the
region. This may cause frost to form on the cold pavement. The
result could be icy patches on roads, sidewalks, and parking lots.
Anyone heading out this morning should be alert for the
possibility of the slippery spots, and use extra caution.

Mild temperatures are expected today, so any ice should melt by
800 or 900 am.
