Regional Weather Summary For Eastern Kansas

Breezy and somewhat steamy conditions occurred this afternoon in
Kansas. Temperatures were in the 90s, and southerly winds had speeds
of 10 to 30 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Heat indices ranged from just
shy of the century mark to 105 degrees mainly in the eastern half
of the state.

Chances of showers are thunderstorms will be possible this evening
which will be concentrated in eastern Colorado, Nebraska, northern
Kansas into northern Missouri and Iowa. The wind will diminish after
sunset with speeds of 5 to 10 mph by the morning. Forecasted low
temperatures are in the low to mid 60s for western Nebraska and
eastern Colorado; elsewhere will range from the mid 60s to mid 70s.

Another round of sunshine and high temperatures in the mid to upper
90s are in store for Monday. Nebraska and northeast Colorado will be
spared some of the heat with highs in the upper 80s. There will be
easterly winds in the north with speeds of 15 mph and southerly
winds in the respective south at 15 to 20 mph.
