...HEAT FORECAST TO INTENSIFY AS THE WEEK PROGRESSES...

This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...Limited...Elevated locally.
AREA...Much of eastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing...with conditions improving by sunset.

DISCUSSION...

Afternoon heat indices are in the dangerous 100 to 105 degree
range, with some isolated locations as high as 108 degrees. Take
proper precautions to avoid heat-related illness if you must spend
an extended time outdoors this afternoon.

WEDNESDAY thru FRIDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential.
SATURDAY and SUNDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Dangerous Heat Potential.
MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...

The heat is expected to intensify as the week progresses, with
afternoon heat indices expected to be in the dangerous 105 to 110
degree range each day. Some relief from the heat is expected by
the weekend with a weak cold front and some potential for showers
and storms continuing into early next week.
