.DISCUSSION...A WARM FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA TODAY. HIGH
TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM AROUND 70 IN SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA
TO AROUND 60 IN FAR NORTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA. MINIMUM RELATIVE
HUMIDITY WILL RANGE FROM AROUND 30 PERCENT IN SOUTHWEST SOUTH
DAKOTA AROUND 45 PERCENT IN NORTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA. GUSTY SOUTH
WINDS OF 15 TO 30 MPH WILL OCCUR THIS AFTERNOON OVER MOST OF THE
AREA.

THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER INDEX WILL REACH THE VERY HIGH CATEGORY
THIS AFTERNOON. VERY POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS OR A VERY LOW
MOISTURE CONTENT OF GRASSES, AND OTHER DRY ORGANIC MATERIAL ON
THE GROUND, INDICATE THAT DANGEROUS BURNING CONDITIONS EXIST.
FIRES WILL SPREAD RAPIDLY AND SHOW ERRATIC BEHAVIOR. OUTDOOR
BURNING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

THE OUTLOOK FOR THURSDAY AFTERNOON, THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER
INDEX WILL REACH THE MODERATE CATEGORY TO VERY HIGH CATEGORY.

AFTERNOON. UNFAVORABLE WEATHER CONDITIONS OR A LOW MOISTURE
CONTENT OF GRASSES, AND OTHER DRY ORGANIC MATERIAL ON THE GROUND,
INDICATE THAT THERE IS A MODERATE TO HIGH POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE
OCCURRENCE. OUTDOOR BURNING SHOULD BE RESTRICTED TO EARLY MORNING
OR EVENING HOURS WHEN WIND SPEEDS ARE USUALLY LOWER AND THE
RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS HIGHER.
