.DISCUSSION...Skies will be mostly sunny today, with highs in the
mid to upper 80s. Minimum relative humidity will be 20 to 30
percent, and winds will be northerly around 5 to 15 mph.

Saturday will be warmer and drier. A cold front will move into
northwestern SD, creating some breezy winds there, but light winds
are expected most places.

...High Fire Danger...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the high category this
afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions or a low moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that there is a moderate to high potential for a fire
occurrence. Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning
or evening hours when wind speeds are usually lower and the
relative humidity is higher.

The outlook for Saturday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the high category to extreme category.
