791 FXUS64 KOHX 210158 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 858 PM CDT Thu Jun 20 2024 ...New UPDATE... .UPDATE... Issued at 852 PM CDT Thu Jun 20 2024 It`ll be a quiet night with mild overnight lows. Temperatures are running 3-7 degree warmer than last night this time and we will see lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Overall fog chances will be low but maybe some patchy fog in the fog prone areas toward daybreak. && .SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Friday) Issued at 1111 AM CDT Thu Jun 20 2024 Hot and dry weather will remain the headline through Friday as a ridge of high pressure stretches over the region. High temps today are once again forecasted to reach the mid to upper 90s this afternoon and Friday. Dewpoints climb slightly higher on Friday from upper 60s to low 70s on Friday making those feel like temperatures slightly warmer Friday afternoon. Latest CAMs are still hinting at the potential for some isolated pop-up showers Friday and Saturday afternoon. That said, with little to no wind shear present for vertical development, the best chance to squeeze out any precipitation will be along terrain induced areas. && .LONG TERM... (Friday Night through next Thursday) Issued at 1111 AM CDT Thu Jun 20 2024 The heat continues through the weekend and into next week with highs potentially peaking on Tuesday next week near 100. Before that though, some better chances for showers develop Sunday night into Monday morning as a frontal boundary pushes through. Still not expecting any shear to be in place so any showers that do form should remain subsevere. Once we get past Monday, the influence of the upper ridge weakens and retreats to the SW allowing for some better dynamics for afternoon thunderstorms. That said, this pattern will still allow for temperatures to climb into the upper 90s each day. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 704 PM CDT Thu Jun 20 2024 VFR. Some fog may be possible at terminals overnight, especially KCSV and KSRB, but confidence is low attm for mention in the forecast. Winds will be light and variable overnight, less than 5 knots, and continuing during the day Friday. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
