.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1248 PM CDT Fri Jul 18 2025

Remnants of Invest-93L remains focused over Southeast Texas, keeping
mainly rain-free conditions intact across South Texas on the western
side this afternoon. There is above normal moisture (GOES indicating
PWATs nearing 2.0") across the Victoria Crossroads that still
warrants a low chance for showers and thunderstorms. Surface high
pressure and mid-level ridging over the eastern Gulf will shift
westward into the middle of next week, keeping generally rain-free
conditions in place and normal to above normal temperatures. Daily
max heat indices will likely range from 105-110 with little
recovery, causing a moderate risk of heat-related impacts across
most of South Texas with a few areas in the Brush Country in a major
risk.

Looking towards the end of the forecast and work week, a weak
surface low is hinted at developing over the northeastern Gulf
associated with a stationary front, then shift westward towards the
Texas Coast. Therefore, additional lift and enhanced moisture will
return our next low rain chances Friday.

Lastly, borderline elevated fire weather conditions will be present
over portions of the Rio Grande Plains in Webb County each afternoon
and early evening Sunday through Wednesday due to winds around 20
mph and relative humidity dropping to 25-30%.
