...Temperatures at La Crosse, Wisconsin were slightly above normal
and precipitation was above normal during the month of July...

The average temperature was 75.0 degrees. This was 1.3 degrees above
normal. The average high temperature was 84.4 degrees and the
average low temperature was 65.6 degrees. The highest temperature
for the month was 94 degrees which occurred on the 22nd.
The coldest temperature was 56 degrees which occurred on the 1st,
2nd, and 3rd.

La Crosse received 5.15 inches of precipitation during the month.
This was eighty nine hundredths of an inch above normal. The
greatest 24-hour precipitation total was 1.35 inches which occurred
on the 23rd.


No records were broken in the month of July.


Temperatures during the month of July were near normal. The warmest
period of the month occurred from the 17th through the 27th when the
daily average temperature ranged from 2 to 10 degrees above normal.
The coldest period of the month occurred from the 1st through the
4th when daily average temperatures were 5 to 7 degrees below

La Crosse received above normal precipitation in the month of July.
There were 10 days of measurable precipitation, which is normal.
Thunder was observed on 9 days during the month. Typically, La
Crosse experiences 7 days when thunder occurs.

...Looking ahead to August...

The average temperature for the month of August is 71.4 degrees. The
average high temperature is 81.5 degrees and the average low
temperature is 61.3 degrees. The normal high temperatures starts off
at 83 degrees on the 1st and falls to 79 degrees by the 31st. The
normal low starts at 63 degrees and drops off to 59 degrees on the
31st. The highest temperature ever recorded during the month of
August was 105 degrees which occurred on the 1st in 1988.

The average precipitation in August is 4.29 inches. The wettest
August occurred in 2007 when 13.75 inches of rain fell at the the La
Crosse Regional Airport. The driest August on record was back in
1894 with thirty five hundredths of an inch.
