A UPPER LEVEL SPRING STORM...WHICH WAS CENTERED OVER THE GREAT BASIN
DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF THURSDAY...APRIL 28TH 2016...MOVED
TO THE FOUR CORNERS BY THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF FRIDAY...APRIL
29TH 2016...FRONT RANGE OF COLORADO BY THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF
SATURDAY...APRIL 30TH 2016...AND FINALLY TO EASTERN NEBRASKA AND
WESTERN IOWA BY SUNDAY MORNING...MAY 1ST 2016. THIS TRACK AND SLOW
PROGRESSION...ALLOWED FOR A LONG DURATION PRECIPITATION EVENT OVER
ALL OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. BOTH RAIN AND SNOW FELL
ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE REGION...WITH THE SNOWFALL GENERALLY BEGIN
CONFINED TO THE EASTER PANHANDLE...WESTERN AND CENTRAL
SANDHILLS...AND PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA.

THE HIGHEST OBSERVED SNOWFALL REPORT OVER THE PAST 48 HOURS AS OF
7AM CDT ON SUNDAY...MAY 1ST 2016...WAS 14 INCHES...16 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF MULLEN IN HOOKER COUNTY. THE HIGHEST OBSERVED 24 HOUR
PRECIPITATION REPORT WAS 1.65 INCHES...AT THE AINSWORTH AIRPORT IN
BROWN COUNTY. THE HIGHEST OBSERVED 72 HOUR PRECIPITATION REPORT WAS
3.26 INCHES...32.0 MILES SOUTH OF VALENTINE IN CHERRY COUNTY.
