.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1047 AM EDT Sat May 11 2024
The 12z sounding at KEY sampled a surprisingly moist layer from
the surface up to around 800 mb. This has allowed a broken island
cumulus cloud line to wax and wane along portions of the Lower
and Middle Keys this morning, but has not been sustained long
enough to produce any shower activity. This is likely due to a
series of subtle, weak inversions in the aforementioned moist
layer. Yet another warm and muggy day on tap, with temperatures
already in the mid 80s at most island locations, and dew points
hovering in the mid 70s. Head indexes will likely eclipse in the
upper 90s at many locations this afternoon- summer has arrived,
Florida Keys.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1047 AM EDT Sat May 11 2024
From synopsis, breezes will gradually shift to the west to
northwest this afternoon, as a weak frontal boundary moves down
the Florida Peninsula. Winds will continue to clock around the
compass over the weekend, as this front approaches and dissipates
in the vicinity of the Florida Keys on Sunday. Another high
pressure area will slide over the western North Atlantic,
resulting in gentle to moderate southeast to south breezes early
next week.
