.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 829 PM EDT Sat Mar 23 2024

Currently - Weather has quieted down considerably through the day
and all heavy showers and thunderstorms clearing east of the Keys
and adjacent waters. This clearing was coincident with a cold
front passage. The cold front is not particularly strong with
temperatures still in the lower to mid 70s. However, dew points
have fallen into the lower to mid 60s due to drier air flooding in
on gentle to moderate northwesterlies. Skies are generally partly
cloudy, comprised of large scattered patches of stratocumulus.
High pressure that is partially responsible for ushering through
the cold front blankets the eastern United States and steadily
spreading southeastward across our area.

Short Term Update - Previously mentioned high pressure will
continue to expand southeastward across our area and into the
Atlantic. Expect winds to freshen over the next several hours. The
real cold air is expected to remain well north of our area.
However, temperatures will trend downwards. Expect overnight lows
to range broadly in the upper 60s with dew points slipping a few
more points. This will be sufficient low level moisture to support
a few weak showers. Thus, will maintain dime PoPs for the
overnight period. No changes planned for the local forecast.

.MARINE...
Issued at 829 PM EDT Sat Mar 23 2024

A cold front has swept out all heavy shower and thunderstorm
activity earlier in the afternoon and evening. High pressure
building southeastward across our area will result in freshening
northwesterly breezes on Keys waters over the next few hours. A
Small Craft Advisory is in effect for all Keys waters. While there
is some uncertainty that winds will reach that threshold, it will
be at least quite close. Only minor adjustments made in the
evening marine update.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 829 PM EDT Sat Mar 23 2024

VFR conditions will prevail at the island terminals. That said,
spells of high MVFR ceilings are possible. Surface winds are
expected to strengthen modestly out of the northwest. This will
result in some crosswinds at the Keys runways.
