National Weather Service Pueblo Co
353 AM MDT Sun Jun 16 2024

A RED FLAG WARNING is in effect for most of the district for
today due to low humidity values and gusty winds. Some dry
lightning will also be possible along the Kansas border region
later this afternoon.

A FIRE WEATHER WATCH is in effect for most of the district for
Monday due to low humidity values and gusty winds.

.Discussion...

Hot, dry and windy conditions will occur over most of the
district today and tomorrow, and numerous RED FLAG WARNINGS and
FIRE WEATHER WATCHES are in effect where fuels are rated to be
critical.

Some dry lighting is possible along the Colorado and Kansas
border this afternoon and evening.

Poor humidity recovery is anticipated tonight over most of the
district, especially over the mountains.

For Tuesday through Thursday, it will not be as hot and winds are
expected to shift into an upslope pattern over the plains. there
will also be a better chance of some scattered wetting storms over
the plains from Tuesday through Thursday. The interior mountains,
however, will remain windy and dry and critical fire weather
conditions will be possible.

Smoke dispersion will be excellent this afternoon and tomorrow
afternoon.
