Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
208 PM CST Fri Jan 17 2020

.DISCUSSION...

Southeast flow will increase steadily tonight and become south to
southwest on Saturday. The winds will be highest atop the higher
elevations in northeast Alabama later tonight and Saturday morning,
where gusts of 25-30 mph are expected. Gusts should remain at
20-25 mph in valley locations. The southerly flow will increase
moisture and lower clouds late tonight, with showers increasing
in coverage Saturday morning into early afternoon in advance of
a strong cold front. The front will drop from northwest to
southeast across the area late Saturday afternoon and early evening.
Behind the front, sharply colder and drier air will filter into
the region on north winds. On Sunday, high temperatures will
struggle to get out of the 30s and into the lower 40s. Morning lows
on Monday will only be in the lower 20s with wind chills in the
teens. The colder and dry weather should last through midweek
before a modest warming trend and rain chances return late in the
week.

Fog potential over the next few days: Not expected.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Not expected.
