This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Scattered thunderstorms will linger across parts of central and
south central Kansas into the early afternoon. An isolated strong
storm with wind gusts to 50 mph will be possible, mainly across
south central Kansas.

Increasing southerly winds will drive the grassland fire danger
into the very high category over rain-free areas of central and
south central Kansas late this afternoon.

A few strong storms may impact areas along and east of the Kansas
Turnpike late tonight. The main threats will be small hail and

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

There is a  chance of thunderstorms Saturday morning across south
central and eastern Kansas. Strong or severe storms are not

Winds will pick up again Tuesday and will bring the fire danger
back into the very high category.

Periodic thunderstorm chances are expected from Sunday night
through Thursday. A few strong storms will be possible.


Spotter activation is not anticipated this afternoon or tonight.
